Signia belongs to Sivantos Group, the parent company of a number of popular hearing aid brands (Siemens, Audio Service, Rexton, and A&M). With over 100 years of design and production, Sivantos Group’s products reflect their philosophy to improve the lives of people with hearing loss. Co-branded with Siemens, Signia produces devices with life-changing innovation and customer-centered values. Building on technologies developed by Siemens, Signia’s current portfolio of hearing aids offers exciting new devices.
Signia primax processing platform
Signia’s debut platform is primax, built upon the innovations of the Siemens binax, celebrated as the world’s first hearing aid proven to outperform normal hearing. Currently the most advanced technology to date from Sivantos Group, the Siemens primax has been found (in a 2015 study at the University of Northern Colorado) to simultaneously outperform normal hearing in challenging noise situations and reduce listening effort throughout the day.
In a series of speech tests in a clinical setting, primax hearing aid wearers significant reduction in listening effort throughout the day and reported a natural listening experience. Researchers point to three main primax features that provided wearers with this experience: SpeechMaster, EchoShield, and HD Music.
SpeechMaster – Improved Speech Recognition
With the understanding that speech recognition poses the greatest challenge for people with hearing loss, Signia primax provides improved speech recognition, empowering people to focus on the speech sounds they want to hear.
Designed to reduce background noise, improve directionality, and enhance steering amplification to focus on preferred sounds, primax ensures that wearers experience ease of access to all speech sounds in their environment. SpeechMaster is especially useful in noisy, challenging spaces, utilizing carefully constructed algorithms to process and clarify audio information from the environment. This enables wearers to focus on the voices they want to hear, regardless of background noise.
EchoShield – Comfortable Sounds in Challenging Spaces
Though amplification and clarity of sound is valued in hearing aid design, there are moments when sounds may be too harsh and could cause discomfort for the wearer. Particularly challenging acoustic spaces include lobbies, hallways, auditoriums, and places of worship – on other words, places with higher ceilings and harder surfaces, against which sounds may become degraded.
To address this concern, Signia primax’s EchoShield eliminates the sharpness and harshness of these sounds. With EchoShield, sounds are balanced and softened, and over-amplification is prevented, assuring a comfortable listening experience for the sounds you do want to hear.
While traditional hearing aids are designed to enhance speech and environmental sounds, there is less focus on features to enhance music. The intricate frequencies and richness of music are often lost in the amplification process with hearing aids.
With HD Music, primax provides music lovers with enhanced sound and music fidelity, with a focus on three experiences: recorded music, live music, and live music (for musician in performance).
Signia Silk primax – Ready to Wear Technology
Silk primax is a ready to wear, completely-in-canal (CIC) hearing aid that combines two innovative technologies: silicon Click Sleeves and the Signia primax hearing platform.
Click Sleeves, made of flexible silicon, “click” into CIC primax hearing aids. With six Click Sleeve sizes, Silk primax is sure to fit most ear canals. Carefully designed, Click Sleeves provide ventilation and comfort, which ensures that their positioning deep within the ear canal is virtually unnoticeable.
Unlike traditional CIC hearing aids, Silk primax does not require a fitting process with a mold of the ear. For first time wearers of hearing aids, Signia Silk primax provides instant access to the wonders of amplified sound and speech recognition. Even more, a user-friendly smart color design (red for the right ear and blue for the left ear) ensures a convenient experience for new wearers.
Signia Cellion primax – A Breakthrough Rechargeable Solution
Signia Cellion primax is a breakthrough, rechargeable hearing aid that uses lithium-ion batteries. With an incredibly long life span, Cellion’s batteries do not require replacement for the lifetime of the hearing aid (in the event that it does require replacement, just visit us at Coweta Hearing).
Gone are the weekly changings of hearing aid batteries and the feeling of insecurity that your batteries may run out. With a contactless induction charging technology, Cellion primax are easily charged by placing them into the charging station. Cellion primax also provides the fastest recharging option on the market: four hours for 24-hours of uninterrupted listening and a 30-minute quick charge for seven hours of listening. Cellion primax provides 60% more energy than competing rechargeable hearing options.
For people on the move, check out Cellion’s traveling charger unit, a standard micro-USB interface that allows you to charge from your laptop or car adaptor. Built on the primax platform, Cellion provides excellent listening features. In 2017, Signia Cellion primax was named a CES Innovations Award Honoree.
Styles & Other Features
Signia primax’s TwinPhone feature provides wearers with wireless connectivity from their hearing aids to their favorite electronic devices. TwinPhone reduces the feedback from phone calls, and through Bluetooth, wearers may stream music and other media directly from their personal electronic devices to their hearing aids. The TouchControl app allows wearers to make adjustments to their listening experience through a smartphone or tablet.
Signia primax hearing aids are equipped with tinnitus therapy (static noise and ocean wave sounds). For people with single-sided (unilateral) hearing loss, Signia primax offers CROS and BiCROS models, using ear-to-ear (e2e) technology, providing wearers with a fuller picture of sound.
Signia primax hearing aids are available in a number of styles and technology levels, to meet diverse ranges of haring loss. Technology levels include: 7px, 5px, and 3px. Hearing aid styles include: Ace and Pure (receiver-in-canal), Motion (behind-the-ear), and Insio (in-the-ear).
